HISTORY

The Creative Minds Association was created on March 31, 2009. The 4 founding members were  Elizabeth Irvine, Lois A. Poulin, Claude Regimbal and Fay Reid. Donna Kanerva and Marcie Breit joined us shortly thereafter to form our group of six members.

The CMAA is a small group of like-minded artists who come together as a cooperative to share the experience, enjoyment and love of art.

It is the intent of the CMAA to:

     - jointly share in the knowledge, expertise and ability to create art in a variety of genre and
media.
     - jointly share in the duties and preparation of holding an art exhibit and/or sale at a time and
venue decided upon cooperatively by all members.
     - jointly share in the various costs incurred in the marketing for the association's exhibits and
sales.
     - allow association members to hold art exhibits and/or sales independently of the association
without redress.
     - agree to support other art and community groups in the City of Greater Sudbury and
surrounding areas.
     - hold workshops from own members and visiting artists from time to time to augment
association members' skills and knowledge.
     - meet as a group on an "as-needed" basis, at a date and time jointly agreed upon by the
members, to discuss items beneficial for the association's success and growth.
     - declare the association "not for profit". No membership fees.
     - agree that any work/s sold through the association shall not be subject to a commission
for the association.
